Do I need a GP referral?

No. You do not need a GP referral to see an osteopath. You can book an appointment directly. However, if you have recently undergone investigations or have relevant medical reports, please bring these with you.

2

What happens at my first appointment?

Your first appointment lasts approximately 45–60 minutes.
We'll begin by discussing your symptoms, medical history and lifestyle before carrying out a thorough assessment. If appropriate, treatment may be provided during your first appointment, followed by advice and exercises to help your recovery.

3

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Depending on the area being treated, you may be asked to remove some outer clothing. We will always ensure your privacy and dignity are maintained.

4

Will treatment hurt?

Most osteopathic treatment is gentle and comfortable. Some techniques may cause mild discomfort, particularly if the area is already painful, but we will always explain what we're doing and ensure you're comfortable throughout your treatment.

Some people experience mild soreness for 24–48 hours afterwards, similar to the feeling after exercise.

5

Do you treat children and babies?

Yes. We welcome patients of all ages, including babies, children, adults and older people. Treatment is always tailored to the individual's age, symptoms and needs.

6

What conditions do you treat?

Osteopathy may help with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:

  • Back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Hip and knee pain

  • Sports injuries

  • Joint pain

  • Muscle strains

  • Postural problems

  • Pregnancy-related aches and pains
